Quick '20 E-1 Selection has played for several years in the youth top league, and every year there are players from E1 that move to FC Twente. This year is no exception. After two seasons, where FC Twente has also played in the same league and won the championship. Now finally, this year, Quick ‘20 had a taste of success again as they won the championship. In addition, they will also play in the semi-finals for the cup. What an excellent performance.
The E’s-own international tournament, which will be held again for the fourth year in succession, will be the highlight of their season. Preparation for such a tournament, where 28 teams from 8 countries will play, is addressed very seriously. Besides the regular competitions and friendly matches, E-1 has also play a 9 x 9 competition against five other clubs in the region. This was all in preparation for their own international E- tournament.
The E1 selection season 2014-2015
During the draw, the following top teams come out of the hat in Quick’s group:
West Ham United from England, Aspire Academy from Qatar, KV Mechelen from Belgium, TPS Turku from Finland and finally Willem II and RKAV Volendam from The Netherlands. All opponents with name where most of the boys are look forward to playing against. Naturally, this also applies to the E1 team leaders.
Captain Wes de Louw said “what a great draw". In this great pool he expects West Ham United to be the group winner. He also thinks that Quick E1 can come third or fourth in qualify for the next rounds. We also asked Wes what he has experienced this season. "We have a great team of boys, who have been playing together all season and our football is getting better and better. Since 2012, Quick '20 football club has annually organizes an international youth tournament for players under the age of 11.
At the Vondersweijde sports park in Oldenzaal, on 1 and 2 of june 2024, 28 teams from 10 different countries will battle it out for the title.
In addition to the sporting goals, the tournament organization is committed to playing a connecting role between the teams, the leaders of the different teams, themselves, Quick '20 and the people of Oldenzaal. So catch more than 120 players’ families on the evening of the 20st of May in down town Oldenzaal. That weekends all the hotels and restaurants will packed and people will really see The Smile of Twente.
That evening there will also be an opportunity to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the city center. New acquaintances will be made and knowledge will be passed on between the trainers and team leaders of the different teams.
Besides bringing in top teams from all over Europe, it is important to involve regional amateur teams in the international tournament.
